Learning Outcomes
Image Formation by Plane Mirror
This activity involves demonstrating how a plane mirror reflects light and forms images. The learners will observe the virtual image formation in a plane mirror and understand the characteristics of the image formed, such as it is upright, same size as the object, and located at the same distance behind the mirror as the object is in front.
Magic Coin Box
This model uses the concept of Image Formation by plane mirrors to create an illusion of disappearing coins when dropped into a Coin Box. Children make an actual Coin Box and the coins disappear into it, that is why it is called Magic Coin Box.
Kaleidoscope
This activity involves creating a simple kaleidoscope that uses multiple mirrors to reflect and create patterns from objects placed inside. The learners will understand how the reflection and multiple reflections of light create an intricate pattern and explore the concept of multiple reflections by mirrors.
- Image formation by a plane mirror
- Characteristics of the images formed by a plane mirror
- How to create an illusion effect by a plane mirror
- Concept of Multiple reflection by mirrors
- Real-life application of multiple reflection
